How to Play Crash
Objective
Be the first player to reach 11 points, or win instantly by "crashing" (winning all 4 hands in a deal) or being dealt four 3s (FULL HOUSE).
Setup
• Each player is dealt 13 cards.
• From these 13 cards, each player creates 4 hands made up of 3 or 2 cards each, leaving at least 1 card unused.
• Hands are arranged from strongest to weakest (Hand 1 is your best, Hand 4 is your weakest).
Playing the hands
• Player 1 shows their first hand, then Player 2, and so on for all players.
• Once all first hands are played, Player 1 shows their second hand, and so on until all 4 hands have been played.
• The best hand for each round wins 1 point.
• If two or more players have exactly the same type and strength of hand, they cancel each other out and the next highest hand wins the point.
Hand rankings (strongest to weakest) Prial
• 3 cards of the same value, for example 6♥ 6♦ 6♣.
• If you have 4 of the same value ("knocking"), you must use 3 cards as a Prial and 1 card in another hand.
• You get 1 extra point for knocking, but you must declare it before hands are laid and say which is your 4th card when you play the Prial.
• 3s are the highest Prial. Four 3s (FULL HOUSE) wins the whole game instantly.
On the Bounce
• 3 cards of the same suit in sequence, for example 8♠ 9♠ 10♠ (also known as a "Bash").
• A‑2‑3 is the highest On the Bounce.
Run
• 3 cards in sequence, any suits, for example 3♥ 4♦ 5♠.
• A‑2‑3 is the highest Run.
Flush
• 3 cards of the same suit, not in sequence, for example 2♦ 7♦ K♦.
• Announced as highest card + "Flush", so the example above is "King Flush".
• Ace Flush is the highest Flush.
Pair
• 2 cards of the same value, for example 2♦ 2♣.
Note: The Ace can be played high or low.
Crashing
• If a player wins all 4 hands from a single deal, they have "CRASHED" and the game ends immediately.
• If a player is dealt four 3s (FULL HOUSE) they also win the game instantly.
Scoring and money
• Each winning hand scores 1 point.
• When a player reaches 11 points, they win the game.
• Each losing player pays the winner 10p per point needed to get from their score up to 11.
For example, if a player finished on 7 points, they are 4 short of 11, so they pay 40p.
• Any player on 0 points when someone wins must pay double, which is £2.20.
